한국시간학회 홈페이지 방문을 환영합니다.
시간은 학문적 탐구의 대상이자, 삶과 사회의 근본을 이루는 요소입니다. 시간에 대한 우리의 인식, 기록, 관리 방식은 문화, 과학, 기술 그리고 인간의 삶 전반에 걸쳐 엄청난 영향을 미칩니다. 한국시간학회는 이러한 시간의 다면성을 학제적 관점에서 연구하고 공유하는 중요한 플랫폼입니다.
무엇보다 시간은 어느 누구도 예외일 수 없습니다. 우리 삶에서 결코 떼어낼 수 없는, 필수적이고 유비쿼터스한 존재입니다. 한국의 고도성장은 곧 시간과의 싸움이었고, 오늘날 우리는 하루하루를 어떻게 행복으로 채울 것인가를 고민해야 하는 시대를 살고 있습니다. 한 사람, 한 사람의 시간이 행복해지면, 온 나라가 행복해지고, 나아가 전 세계가 행복해질 것입니다.
더불어 인터넷의 등장으로 시계 시간은 리얼타임(real time)으로 변하였고, 인공지능(AI)의 발전으로 시간의 개념과 기능이 혁명적으로 바뀌고 있습니다. 이러한 변화 속에서 시간학의 연구는 과거와 미래를 연결하며, 인류가 새로운 도전에 대응할 수 있는 통찰을 제공해야 합니다. 그동안 학회는 학술대회, 워크숍 및 국제 교류 활동 등을 통해 많은 성과를 거두었습니다. 회원 여러분의 헌신과 열정이 있었기에 가능한 결과였습니다.
앞으로도 우리는 다음과 같은 방향으로 나아가고자 합니다:
1. 학제 간 연계 강화
사회과학, 인문학, 자연과학, 기술학 등 다양한 분야 간 협업을 확대하여 ‘시간’을 핵심 주제로 삼는 융합 연구를 촉진하겠습니다.
2. 국제 네트워크 확대
해외 시간 관련 학술단체 및 학자들과의 교류를 강화하여, 한국시간학회가 국제 학계에서도 중심적 역할을 할 수 있도록 하겠습니다.
3. 신진 연구자 지원 및 플랫폼 확장
박사과정 및 초기 경력 연구자들을 위한 연구비, 발표 기회 제공, 기성회원들과의 교류 등 실질적인 지원을 강화하겠습니다.
4. 대중 소통·문화 확산
시간에 관한 연구 성과를 대중과 나누고, 더 많은 이들이 학회의 활동을 접할 수 있도록 노력하겠습니다.
회원 여러분의 지혜와 참여가 학회의 미래를 만듭니다. 함께 머리를 맞대고, 시간을 주제로 한 학문의 지평을 넓혀 나갑시다.

Message from the President
It is my great pleasure to welcome you to the homepage of the Korean Society for Time Studies.
Time is both a subject of scholarly inquiry and a fundamental element of life and society. The way we perceive, record, and manage time has profound impacts on culture, science, technology, and human existence. The Korean Society for Time Studies serves as a vital platform for exploring and sharing the multifaceted nature of time from an interdisciplinary perspective.
Above all, time spares no one. It is an indispensable and ubiquitous presence in our lives. Korea’s rapid economic development was, in many ways, a battle against time, and today we are challenged to fill each day with meaning and happiness. When each individual’s time becomes a source of happiness, the entire nation will thrive, and ultimately the whole world will become happier.
Furthermore, with the advent of the internet, clock time has transformed into real time, and with the rise of artificial intelligence (AI), the very concept and function of time are undergoing a revolutionary transformation. In this era of change, research on time must connect past and future, providing insights that help humanity navigate new challenges.
Over the years, our Society has achieved remarkable outcomes through academic conferences, journal publications, workshops, and international exchanges. These accomplishments have been made possible by the dedication and passion of our members. Looking ahead, we aim to focus on the following directions:
1. Strengthening Interdisciplinary Collaboration
We will expand cooperation across social sciences, humanities, natural sciences, and technology to foster integrative research with time as a central theme.
2. Expanding International Networks
We will deepen exchanges with international associations and scholars of time studies to enhance the global presence of our Society.
3. Supporting Early-Career Scholars
We will provide practical support—such as fellowships, research grants, and presentation opportunities—for doctoral candidates and early-career researchers.
4. Promoting Public Engagement
Recognizing that time is intimately connected with everyday life, we will share our research outcomes with the wider public through lectures, media content, and open-access initiatives.
The wisdom and participation of our members shape the future of this Society. Let us join together to broaden the horizon of scholarship on time. I sincerely ask for your continued interest and support.
